How the number analysis works
Pick up to six Lotto numbers, plus your Powerball and Strike numbers if you play them, then choose "Analyse my numbers". "Random numbers" fills in a line if you just want to try it.
For each number you'll see how many times it has been drawn since December 2018, when it last came up and how it has done over the last 50 draws. Any of your numbers that have been drawn together are listed as pairs and triples. With all six numbers picked, you'll also see every prize the line would have won, using the actual amount paid in each draw.
Your numbers are saved in the page address, so you can bookmark the results or share them.
Hot, cold and average
Here, "hot" means a number has come up clearly more often than chance would suggest over the last 50 draws, and "cold" clearly less often. Everything in between is "average". This is different from the hot and cold lists on our Lotto statistics page, which rank numbers over the full history.
Every draw is random. How a number or a line has done in the past has no effect on the next draw, so treat this as history to explore, not a way to pick winning numbers. If you choose to play, set yourself a budget.
Lotto number analysis FAQ
Does a number that has been drawn often have a better chance next time?
No. Every Lotto draw is an independent, random event, and each number has the same chance of being drawn every time. The figures here describe what has already happened; they cannot predict the next draw.
How is the amount my line would have won worked out?
For every draw on record, the line is checked against the winning numbers and given the actual prize paid to one winning line in that division that draw. Bonus tickets are counted separately, and where nobody won a jackpot, the jackpot on offer is used if it is known.
Why is the cost based on today's prices?
Ticket prices have changed over the years, so the cost shown is what playing the line in every draw would cost at today's prices: $0.70 a Lotto line, $0.80 extra for Powerball and $1 for Strike.
Why are some Powerball numbers only counted from September 2026?
Powerball used numbers 1 to 10 until draw 2621 on 16 September 2026, when the range became 1 to 14. Powerball 11 to 14 couldn't have been drawn before then, so earlier draws are left out of their count.
Can I share my results?
Yes. Your numbers are part of the results page address, so you can bookmark it or send the link to someone.
How is this different from the Lotto checker?
The Lotto checker tells you what a ticket won in specific draws from the last 12 months. Number analysis looks at your numbers across every draw since December 2018, so you can see their whole history.
